UN Security Council condemns recent attacks at Syrian schools

UN SC expressed concern with attacks at civilians and civilian facilities, as well as with indiscriminate attacks across Syria

UNITED NATIONS, October 29. /TASS/. UN Security Council has condemned the attacks at schools in the Syrian province of Idlib and in east Aleppo that killed 25 children in total. In a statement adopted on Friday, UN Security Council members called for unbiased investigations into these incidents.

On October 26, a school was attacked in the settlement of Haas in the Syrian province of Idlib. At least 22 children and teachers were killed. On October 28, a school in east Aleppo was attacked, and several children were killed in the assault.

UN SC expressed concern with attacks at civilians and civilian facilities, as well as with indiscriminate attacks across Syria.

The UN Security Council reminded all parties in the conflict about their responsibilities in the framework of international humanitarian law.

The statement calls for fighting terrorism by all means in accordance with UN Charter and other commitments in international law. It also noted that the only way to resolve the crisis in Syria is through a comprehensive political process.
