Post-Soviet military bloc chief to address UN Security Council

On October 27-28, the Collective Security Treaty Organization's chief will address the UN Security Council and hold a meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha will visit the UN headquarters on October 27-28 to address the UN Security Council and meet the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the SCTO press service reported.

"On October 27-28… the CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha will visit the United Nations headquarters where he will address the UN Security Council and hold a meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon," the press service said in a statement.

Bordyuzha will brief the UN Security Council members on the CSTO activities in the fields of combating today’s challenges and threats, ensuring collective security and cooperating with UN agencies.

Since 2004, the CSTO has an observer status with the UN General Assembly.
