MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. Two members of illegal armed groups were killed in Nizhny Novgorod during a special operation, a source at law enforcement authorities told TASS on Sunday.
"Two members of bandit groups were killed during a special operation," the source said.
A source at the local police also said that two servicemen of the Special Rapid Response Union (SOBR) got injured in a special operation. "They were shell-shocked," the source said. "Both are taken to hospital."
By the way a source at law enforcement authorities told special services have defused a suspiciously looking object, which may have been an explosive device, left in a car, which the police stopped for checking in Nizhny Novgorod.
"A sapper robot destroyed the suspicious object, which was in the car," the source said.
The source told TASS, the police tried to stop a car for inspection, but the people in it refused to obey and tried escaping.
The special operation began as the intelligence services received information about location of the bandits. The special operation continues now.
TASS has learned from local residents that a block and a street are cordoned off. Gun fire can be heard from time to time.
