MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. At least 44 ceasefire violations by illegal armed groups have been reported in the past 24 hours in Syria, including 20 breaches in the region of Aleppo, 20 — in the Damascus region, three — in the Hama region and one — in the Latakia region, the Russian Center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria said in its daily news bulletin posted on the Russian Defense ministry’s official website on Saturday.
Since October 18, the Russian Aerospace Force and Syrian government forces have not delivered strikes on terrorists. Syrian forces were pulled back at a distance comfortable for the unarmed militants and civilians to leave eastern Aleppo via eight special exit corridors.
"Armed groups, which have declared joining the regime of cessation of hostilities, delivered fire from mortars and small arms at the city of Aleppo’s district of Hai al-Antari and al-Masharqa; in the Damascus province — at the populated localities of Blelie, Bala al-Kadima, Jobar, Douma, Kafer Batna, Harasta and Mazraat Mahmoud; in the Latakia province — at the populated locality of Saraf," the document says.
Terrorists shelled from home-made multiple missile launchers, gun artillery, anti-tank guided systems, mortars and firearms the settlements of al-Hader, Hananu Shimalia, Bakirtaya, Shurfa and the al-Masharka district (twice) in the Aleppo region; ‘3000', al-Halidia, Sheikh Maqsood, Hai al-Ansari, the al-Assad military academy, the Castello shopping mall (twice) in the city of Aleppo, the positions of government forces near the populated localities of Benjamin, the districts of 1070, Ramusi and northern farms in the populated locality of Sheikh al-Kobtani and the Castello Road.
In the Hama province, terrorists shelled the populated localities of Mardes and Maharada and a thermal power plant in the town of Mahardah.
"Russia’s Aerospace Force and Syria’s Air Force have not been delivering strikes at opposition armed units that had announced the cessation of hostilities and reported their location to the Russian or US reconciliation centers," the bulletin says.
Reconciliation of warring parties
"In the past 24 hours, reconciliation agreements have been inked with four populated localities in the Latakia province (2) and in the Homs province (2). The number of populated localities that joined the reconciliation process has increased to 836," the document says.
Talks on joining the cessation of hostilities are underway with field commanders of illegal armed detachments in the settlement of Moadamyiet al-Shih in the Damascus region and with units of armed opposition in the regions of Homs, Hama, Aleppo and Quneitra.
"The number of armed groups that pledged their commitments to accepting and fulfilling the conditions of the cessation of hostilities remained unchanged — 69," the center said.
Over two tonnes of humanitarian aid were distributed among the civilians of the village of al-Mesherfa in the Latakia region, with sugar, flour, rice, tea, canned meat and fish in the aid.
Special centers keep operating in the city of Aleppo, providing hot meals and daily necessities to civilians who are evacuating from the districts controlled by illegal armed groups.
