BERLIN, October 19. /TASS/. The co-leader of the Left party faction in Germany's Bundestag (parliament) Sahra Wagenknecht warned the West against confrontation with Russia.
"The policy of confrontation towards Russia harms Germany and threatens the world order," she stated in an interview with the German news agency, Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA). "The threats, sanctions, arms build-up and expanding military operations don’t help to solve problems, but create new ones. This can be applied to both Ukraine and Syria," the German MP said urging the continuous dialogue with Moscow.
"Merkel should focus on the heritage of Willy Brandt’s policy of d·tente and begin a real meaningful dialogue with Russia," Wagenknecht said.
