MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS/. A total of 49 ceasefire violations by illegal armed groups were reported during the day in Syria, the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties said in its regular daily news bulletin posted on the Russian Defense Ministry’s website on Sunday.
Armed groups which have declared their joining the regime of cessation of hostilities conducted fire from anti-tank guided missile systems, mortars and firearms at the settlement of Azizi and positions of government forces near the settlement of Al-Salhine in the province of Aleppo and Aleppo’s districts of al-Masharka and Hai al-Antari; at the settlements of Harasta and Arbil and positions of government troops near Mazar Abu and the Ain Agub spring in the province of Damascus; at the settlement of Rashah and Tubal in the province of Latakia, as follows from the bulletin.
In the province of Aleppo, paramilitary terrorist groups shelled from home-made multiple missile launcher systems, artillery systems, grenade launchers, anti-tank guided missile systems, mortars and firearms the settlements of Bakirtaya, Jandul (twice), and Aleppo’s districts of Arian, Suleiman al-Halabi, Sheikh Abu Bakr (twice), Hai al-Antari, Salah al-Din, Sheikh Maksoud, al-Maydam, positions of government troops in the districts of Ramusi (twice), 1070, Leramon, the Al-Assad military Academy, the Qaryat Halab castle, a cement plant and the Castello trade center.
In the province of Damascus, terrorists shelled the settlements of Harasta, Hawsh-Nasri (twice), Nashabiya, a medical service school in the settlement of Harasta, a sports ground, a textiles factory and positions of government troops in the settlement of Jobar (four times), the Ibn al-Walid hospital in the settlement of al-Rihan (twice) and farms in the settlement of Bala al-Qadima.
In the province of Hama, terrorists shelled the settlement of Kawbak (twice), positions of government forces near the settlement of Skandriya and a railway station in the settlement of Narb Nafsa. The settlement of Jaba in the province of Daraa came under shelling by terrorists.
"No air strikes were delivered by the Russian air group and the Syrian air force at armed opposition group which have declared cessation of hostilities and informed the Russian or U.S. reconciliation centers about their locations," the Russian center said.
Reconciliation agreements were signed during the day with representatives of four more settlements in the Syria, including three - in the province of Latakia and one - in the province of al-Suwayda.
"The number of settlements joining the reconciliation process has reached 799," the center said.
"Talks on joining the regime of cessation of hostilities were continued with field commanders of armed opposition groups in the settlement of Muaddamiet al-Shih in the province of Damascus and commanders of armed opposition groups in the provinces of Homs, Hama, Aleppo and al-Quneitra. The number illegal armed groups that declared their commitment to the ceasefire terms remains unchanged - 69," the bulletin says.
Apart from that, according to the Russian center, efforts are continued to relieve the humanitarian situation in Syria. Thus, about 1.2 tonnes of food products - sugar, flour, rice, tea, canned meat and fish - were delivered to the settlement of Sitt Marho in the province of Latakia. About 1.5 tonnes of food products were delivered to the settlement of Kharjali in the province of Damascus.
"Hot meals and living essentials distribution outlets are still open for civilians leaving Aleppo’s neighborhoods controlled by illegal armed groups," the center said.
