St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport being evacuated, terminal closed

The reason is "receiving a message indicating a threat of illegal interference with the airport’s operations"

ST.PETERSBURG, October 14. /TASS/. Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg is being evacuated, all entrances and exits of the terminal have been closed, the Pulkovo press service told TASS on Friday.

"After receiving a message indicating a threat of illegal interference with the airport’s operations, the airport has been evacuated and the terminal is temporarily closed. The transport police and the airport’s security service are taking security measures," the press service said.

According to the press office, some flights might be delayed. Arriving passengers will stay onboard until all security procedures are completed.

Pulkovo Airport is Russia’s third airport as far as traffic flow goes. The annual traffic capacity of the reconstructed passenger terminal, Pulkovo-1, totals roughly 17 mln.
