NEW YORK, October 7. /TASS/. The US authorities have three days to notify the Russian side about arrested Russian nationals, a well-informed diplomatic source told TASS on Friday.

"Under the consular agreement, the US authorities should notify about arrests of Russian citizens," the source said. "For that, they have three days from the arrest."

The source confirmed the Russians arrested on Thursday in Denver (Colorado) are transferred to New York.

The Russian consulate general in San Francisco reported earlier they had not received notifications from the US side about arrest in Denver of Dmitry Karpenko, 33, and Alexey Krutilin of 27.

The prosecutor’s office of the State of New York’s Eastern District said on Thursday in New York was arrested an American, a native Russian, Alexey Baryshev on charges of "illegal export of technologies from the United States." The prosecution claims the American and Russians have conspired in order to obtain from producers and suppliers in the US cutting-edge microelectronics with the purpose of further export to Russia, evading the US licensing system.
