MOSCOW, October 2. /TASS/. A total of 66 ceasefire violations by illegal armed groups were reported over the last 24 hours in Syria, including 39 — in the province of Aleppo, 18 — in the province of Damascus, six — in the province of Latakia and three — in the province of Hama, the Russian Center for reconciliation of the warring parties said in its regular daily news bulletin posted on the Russian Defense Ministry’s website on Sunday.
"Armed groups that have joined the regime of cessation of hostilities conducted fire from mortars and firearms at the settlements of Arbil, Harasta, Jobar, Douma, Jaur al-Basha, farms in the settlement of Hawsh al-Fara and height 612 in the province of Damascus; the settlements of Ain al-Qantara, Kinsibba, Rashah, Shir-Adaba and positions of government troops near Abu Ali mount in the province of Latakia; the settlement of Azizi in the province of Aleppo and Aleppo’s district of al-Masharqa," the center said.
In the province of Damascus, armed terrorist groups conducted fire from tanks, self-made multiple missile launcher systems, artillery systems, mortars and firearms at the settlements of Hawsh-Nasri, Jobar, the Ibn Sina hospital, a medical service school in the settlement of Harasta and an electricity plant in the settlement of Jobar.
In the province of Aleppo, terrorists shelled a number of settlement and districts, the Qaryat Halab castle, the Castello trade center, checkpoints No 1 and No 2 on Castello road, as well as a cement plant, an artillery school and weapons school in the city of Aleppo, positions of government forces near southern farms in the settlement of Sheikh ali-Kobtani and Hai al-Ansari and 1070 district, as follows from the bulletin.
In the province of Hama, terrorists shelled the settlements of Skandriya, Maharda and Krah.
"No air strikes were delivered by the Russian air group and the Syrian air force at armed opposition groups that have declared cessation of hostilities and informed the Russian or US reconciliation centers about their locations," the Russian reconciliation center said.
The Russian Defense Ministry declared the establishment of the reconciliation center on February 23. It is headquartered at the Hmeymim air base, Latakia province. The center was set up in line with agreements reached by Russia and the United States to facilitate the negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition and to organize humanitarian deliveries.
