Austrian top diplomat says Ukraine needs to get along both with EU and Russia

The top diplomat stresses the Ukrainian crisis will be among priorities during Austria’s rotating presidency of the OSCE in 2017

UNITED NATIONS, September 22. /TASS/. Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz on Wednesday urged Ukraine to establish good relations both with the European Union and Russia.

"In our opinion, other solutions must be found apart from a ceasefire, we need a free and stable Ukraine that will have good relations both with the Russian Federation and the European Union," Sebastian Kurz told the 71st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

He expressed confidence that the OSCE European security agency could play a major role in that process. The top diplomat also pledged that "the settlement of conflicts in the east of Ukraine, in Georgia, Nagorno Karabakh and Transnistria" will be among priorities during Austria’s rotating presidency of the OSCE in 2017.
