DONETSK, September 19. /TASS/. Truce holds in Ukraine’s self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, with no shelling from the Ukrainian side fixed during the night, local administrations told the Donetsk News Agency (DAN) on Monday.
It was calm during the night, the heads of Donetsk neighborhoods reported. No shelling was either reported from the towns of Gorlovka and Makeyevka.
On September 13, heads of DPR and LPR (the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics) declared a ban on opening fire for their military in response to provocations by the Ukrainian armed forces. For his part, Kiev’s representative at the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination said the Ukrainian side is ready to maintain the ceasefire in the Donbass region.
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on the following day that Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko assured him in a conversation that Kiev was willing to fully comply with the ceasefire in Donbass.
