NEW YORK, September 18. /TASS/. At least 25 people were injured in the explosion In New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood, CNN reported on Sunday.
The New York City Police said no one was killed in the blast. The explosion occurred at around 8:30pm local time (3:30am Moscow time).
It was earlier reported that New York City Police responded to a report of an explosion at 23rd Street and 6th Avenue in Manhattan. People are being evacuated from nearby houses.
According to preliminary information, the explosion occurred on the street. The reasons are not clear yet. The police recommended people to avoid the area of the explosion. Ambulances and firefighters were dispatched to the scene, and the area has been cordoned off. Photos from the site posted on social networks show that several cars had their windows shattered by the explosion.
