MOSCOW, September 14. /TASS/. Russian-US communication channels in Syria are functioning successfully, the Russian Defense Ministry's department for information and mass communications said on Wednesday as it informed on the 6th videoconference of authorized representatives of the Ministry and the Pentagon, who discussed action in line with the memorandum of mutual understanding on prevention of incidents and ensuring flight security in the course of armed operations in Syrian airspace.
Russia and the US signed the memorandum on October 20, 2015.
"The mechanism makes it possible to minimize the risks of incidents that might involve the aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Force and the US-led coalition," the ministry said.
