LONDON, September 10. /TASS/. The Syrian opposition's High Negotiations Committee (HNC) will support the agreement between Russia and the United States on the Syrian settlement if government forces observe the cessation of hostilities as well, Bassma Koudmani, spokesperson for HNC, told TASS on Saturday.

"The truce can definitely be established, and the opposition can make the groups that signed the first agreement on ceasefire (in February 2016) to start observing it again," Koudmani said commenting on Geneva talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US State Secratry John Kerry.

Koudmani stressed that official Damscus has to implement what Lavrov and Kerry agreed upon. "We want to see at the first stage that the regime's air forces are not used, and we want to believe that Russia will be able to exert pressure on the regime to make it observe complete ceasefire," she noted.

"Opposition’s readiness to observe ceasefire was never an issue, and it could be seen IN February," she added. "HNC always showed that the ceasefire regime may be observed, that all groups will join it and observe it," Koudami said.

HNC will analyze "with great interest" the text of the agreement, she continued. "I think we will understand all details of this agreement in the next few days," she concluded.

Earlier today Lavrov and Kerry coordinated a package of five documents on establishing a ceasefire regime in Syria and laying the basis for resuming a process of political settlement.
