Militia commander reports 528 ceasefire violations by Kiev forces over last week

The militia fighter said that Ukrainian army units had used weapons banned under the Minsk agreements 264 times

DONETSK, September 9 /TASS/. The Ukrainian militaries have made 528 ceasefire violations shelling the populated localities in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Sinenkov, commander of the DPR operational command, said on Friday.

"Despite the truce, which took effect on September 1, the Ukrainian side has increased the daily number of violations of the ‘silence regime’. The Ukrainian militaries have broken the ceasefire regime 526 times over the past week," the Donetsk News Agency quoted Sinenkov as saying.

Sinenkov said that Ukrainian army units had used weapons banned under the Minsk agreements 264 times. He also added that the shells had damaged three houses, including one apartment bloc. The DPR reconnaissance discovered Ukraine’s unmanned aerial vehicles oven the republic’s territory. The enemy has tested combat drones near Yasinovataya.

At its meeting on August 26, the Contact Group for the Ukraine settlement stressed the need to establish an infinite ceasefire in Donbass effective as of September 1 for the ninth time since 2014. On September 7, Martin Sajdik, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in -Office, told the Contact Group’s regular meeting that the ceasefire regime was generally observed and the situation in Donbass Ambassador Martin Sajdik had improved in many ways.

However, the sides in conflict continue accusing each other of truce violation.
