HANGZHOU, September 4. /TASS/. Five countries, members of BRICS, are an influential voice in international discourse to shape up the international agenda, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during an informal meeting of the BRICS countries’ leaders (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), which took place before beginning of the G20 meeting in Chinese Hangzhou on Sunday.
"We, as BRICS, are an influential voice in international discourse," he said. "It is, therefore, our shared responsibility to shape the international agenda."
As chair of BRICS, the G20 meeting should focus on building responsible, inclusive and collective solutions, he added.
During the current year of India’s chairing BRICS, about 50 events have been organized throughout the country. Modi said, the BRICS leaders will have a meeting in mid-October in India’s Goa. "We've taken BRICS out of capitals to involve people from all walks of life. It'll be an opportunity to deepen our ties and with BIMSTEC countries," he added.
