Ukraine’s police look into death of Russian journalist in Kiev

Earlier, the Ukrainian media said Russia’s Alexander Shchetinin was found dead in his flat

KIEV, August 28. /TASS/. Kiev’s National Police looks into circumstances of the death in the Ukrainian capital city of a Russian journalist, a case in suicide has been opened, though the name is not quoted.

Earlier, the Ukrainian media said Russia’s Alexander Shchetinin was found dead in his flat in Keiv.

"As the police arrived to the scene, they found body of a man with a gun wound in the head on the flat’s balcony," the police press service said. "The man was identified as a Russian, born in 1962, who had lived several years in Kiev, he was head of an Internet portal."

"Doors to the flat were closed, nothing suspicious inside," the police said, adding criminal proceedings had been opened.

Alexander Shchetinin is a Russian journalist, the founder of the Novy Region (New Region) information agency.
