GENEVA, August 26. /TASS/. UN special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, has joined the talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry underway in Geneva, a source in the Russian delegation has informed TASS.
"The UN Secretary General’s special envoy for Syria has joined the talks," the source said.
The UN envoy is expected to raise the issue of introducing weekly 48-hour pauses for delivery of humanitarian aid to Aleppo. Also on the agenda is the issue of launching a political process, in particular, resuming intra-Syrian talks.
The meeting of the Russian and US top diplomats in Geneva’s Hotel President Wilson has been going on for more than two hours now.
