Italy was hit by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake at 3:36 am, local time, Wednesday followed by a second one with the magnitude of 5.4 points. The earthquake was felt in many cities, including Perugia, Rieti and Norcia. The quake’s epicenter was located 24 kilometers to the west from the city of Askoli Piceno and 50 kilometers to the north from the city of L’Aquila. Amatrice, a town in the centre of Italy, was almost destroyed by the earthquake.
