DONETSK, August 16. /TASS/. A source in the law enforcement agencies of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic said on Tuesday Kiev forces had fired 229 shells at the outskirts of Donetsk, Yasinovataya, Dokuchayevsk, Gorlovka and several villages in the south of the unrecognized republic.
The Ukrainian side fired 97 artillery shells with the caliber of 122mm and 152mm and 132 shells with the caliber of 82mm and 120mm, the source told the Donetsk news agency.
The source said that the villages of Trudovskiye and Alexandrovka in western Donetsk, Shirokaya Balka and Zaytsevo near Gorlovka, the villages of Mineralnoye, Veseloye, Vasilyevka and areas near Yasinovataya, the villages of Sakhanka and Belaya Kamenka came under fire.
The Kiev forces reportedly used heavy armaments and mortars as well as grenade launchers, small arms and infantry combat vehicles, the source added.
