LUGANSK, August 8. /TASS/. Head of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), Igor Plotnitsky, sustained no severe injuries in Saturday’s assassination attempt, LPR Health Minister Larisa Airapetyan said on Monday.

"Indeed, there were several injures that posed no threat to his life and health. However, all necessary assistance was provided in full and in due time," LuganskInformTsentr quotes her as saying.

The minister declined to specify what kind of injuries were sustained by the LPR head, adding that "there are numerous insinuations in the media around his health condition." "These are all rumors," she said.

Airapetyan noted that at the moment "it is difficult to talk about his recuperation."

On Saturday morning, a powerful explosive device went off near Plotnitsky’s car. The injured official was taken to hospital.
