PHILADELPHIA, July 27. /TASS/. Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia has been nominated for the post of U.S. Vice-President as Hillary Clinton's running mate in the 2016 presidential election. The Democratic National Convention named him as the candidate on Wednesday.

There were no alternative candidates. The convention officially endorsed Clinton as the candidate on Tuesday.
