GENEVA, July 26./TASS/. Intra-Syrian consultations between the Syrian government delegation and the opposition could restart at the end of August, Tass has learned from a source close to a Russia-US-UN meeting on Syria, underway in Geneva on Tuesday.
The source said the issue had been discussed at the three-party meeting.
"It is expected that [UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan] de Mistura will announce at a press briefing today that he will seek to see renewal of the talks at the end of August," the source said.
According to the source, participants in the meeting assume that in order to create an atmosphere encouraging a new round of consultations "it is necessary to strengthen the cessation of hostilities regime and implement Moscow agreements on fight against al-Nusra (Jabhat al-Nusra, a terrorist organization banned in Russia)".
The Russian delegation to the meeting on Syria is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, US - by Special Envoy for Syria Michael Ratney, UN - by Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura. The talks are held behind closed doors.
