Militia source reports two civilians injured in Ukrainian forces’ shelling attack on DPR

A man, 30, and a woman, 70, were injured overnight

DONETSK, July 25. /TASS/. Two civilians have been injured in a shelling attack launched by the Ukrainian armed forces on the Kominternovo settlement in the Novoazovsk district in the south of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the republic’s security source told the Donetsk News Agency on Monday.

"A man, 30, and a woman, 70, were injured overnight in a shelling attack launched by the Ukrainian military," the source said, adding that a residential building was damaged in the shelling.

According to earlier reports, the Ukrainian forces fired on Sunday evening almost 70 artillery shells and 295 mortar shells on the republic’s territories located along the contact line.

Members of the Contact Group for the settlement of the situation in the east of Ukraine at a meeting in Minsk on April 29 agreed on a complete ceasefire in Donbass starting from midnight on April 30. It is an eighth ceasefire agreement since the autumn of 2014. The sides however continue accusing each other of ceasefire violations.

Kiev’s security forces in the people’s militia responsibility zone have been repeatedly violating the truce, opening fire from mortars and tank weapons, which had to be withdrawn in accordance with the Minsk agreements.
