Media: People being evacuated from Turkish parliament over imminent attack report

ANKARA, July 18. /TASS/. People are being evacuated form the Turkish parliament building as there has been information about an imminent attack on the building, the Cumhuriyet newspaper reported on Monday.

"We have been informed of an attack. The Meclis is being evacuated," the newspaper quotes member of the Peoples’ Democracy Party Ziya Pir.

On the night to July 16, a group of insurgents staged a military coup attempt. The main confrontation was in Ankara and Istanbul. The country’s leadership announced that the coup was suppressed. According to the latest reports, 208Turkish citizens died, 100 insurgents were killed and some 1,500 people were injured in clashes. As many as 7,543 people have been detained in Turkey on charges of organizing the coup attempt. There are 100 policemen, 6,083 military servicemen, 755 judges and prosecutors and 650 civilians among them.
