Launch of DPRK missile fails — South Korea

SEOUL, July 9. /TASS/. The launch of a ballistic missile from a submarine, which the DPRK made earlier on Saturday, was not successful, the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea reported.

"The missile’s launch off the submarine went smoothly, but the flight at the initial stage was not successful," the report reads. "We condemn strongly the North Korean provocation."

The launch was made from Sinpo, South Hamgyong Province at 11:30 local time, the Joint Chiefs of Staff said.

Since April, the DPRK made several launches of ballistic missiles into waters of the Sea of Japan.
