SOCHI, July 1. /TASS/. Turkey is directly fighting the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization, the group has nothing to do with Islam, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told journalists on Friday.

"The situation in Syria is very complicated, it is not encouraging so far," he said. "Terrorism and security issues concern all."

"But if we work together to ensure the ceasefire observance, provision of humanitarian assistance, secure a political solution, then we can succeed," the minister said. "It is necessary to resume the intra-Syrian negotiations in Geneva as soon as possible. We have agreed to work closely with Russia".

"IS attacks Turkey, because we are at the forefront of the fight against them, we help the coalition," Cavusoglu said. "Turkey is fighting IS directly, IS do not represent Islam, as Islam is a religion of peace. It is necessary to neutralize the IS ideology."
