The consultations will be held between Kimihiro Isikane, the director of the Asia-Pacific Region Department of the Japanese Foreign Ministry, and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.
"The consultations will focus on the exchange of opinions regarding the policies of Japan and Russia in the sphere of security as well as on issues of international and regional security," the statement from the Japanese Foreign Ministry said.
