China ready to implement deals together with Russia — Foreign Ministry

BEIJING, June 27. /TASS/. China’s government is ready to jointly with Russia implement the deals that have been reached, Foreign Ministry official spokesman Hong Lei told reporters on Monday commenting on the results of Vladimir Putin’s visit to Beijing.

"This visit coincided with the 15th anniversary of signing the Treaty on good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation between China and Russia and the 20th anniversary of establishing comprehensive relations of strategic cooperation and partnership," the diplomat said.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed bilateral ties and international and regional issues, exchanged views and signed a range of agreements.

"The sides are ready to continue dialogue with the goal of maintaining relations at a high level," he said, adding that Russia and China agreed to provide support for each other and build trust.

An agreement was reached to hold dialogue on major regional and international issues. The leaders also signed a joint statement on strengthening global strategic stability and more than 30 trade and economic deals.

"The results of the visit have fully shown the level of relations between Russia and China and similar positions of Russia and China," Hong said.

"Russia and China have built constructive mutually beneficial and equal relations," the diplomat said. "China is ready to jointly with Russia implement the agreements that have been reached," he stressed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin paid an official visit to China on June 25. The Russian leader met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier of the State Council Li Keqian. Some 30 agreements on cooperation in economy and trade, infrastructure, technologies and innovations, agriculture, finances, energy, mass media, the Internet and sports were signed in the framework of the visit.

The Russia-China media tour

According to the ministry, the Russia-China media tour, organized by TASS and China’s Renmin Ribao (People’s Daily), is of big importance for development of friendship and cooperation between Russia and China.

"The media of Russia and China have a plan of covering the event, where the purpose is strengthening of friendship," he said. "It is of major importance for better understanding of each other, for development of friendship between peoples and development of cooperation."

"We hope this event will be successful and will become a new force in improvement of relations between Russia and China," he said.

The opening ceremony of the second stage of the media tour was organized on Saturday in China in presence of Putin and Xi.

The media tour will cover the Russian regions bordering China in the Amur region and the Maritime Territory.

The joint group of participants in the media tour features journalists from leading Chinese media, including the People’s Daily, the China Daily, the Voice of China radio station, the China Radio International, and CCTV. The Russian delegation, besides TASS delegation, features representatives of leading federal (NTV, Moskovsky Komsomolets, Komsomolskaya Pravda, Rossiiskaya Gazeta) and region media.
