TASHKENT, June 24. /TASS/. Kazakhstan, China have a high potential for bilateral cooperation in transport and communications, the countries’ leaders Nursultan Nazarbayev and Xi Jinping said during a meeting on the fringes of the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Friday.
They also said the countries should develop further "transport corridors, crossing the countries."
Nursultan Nazarbayev and Xi Jinping expressed the intention to build up the trade turnover, "bringing it to a qualitatively new level" and "agreed on further deepening of the long-term partnership in agriculture."
They discussed key directions of cooperation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and exchanged opinions on certain aspects of the regional and international agendas. The Chinese leader supported the initiative of Kazakhstan to host the EXPO-2017 international show in Astana (Kazakhstan’s capital city).
