MOSCOW, June 21. /TASS/. Russia might come up with its own initiative on the Palestinian-Israeli settlement which would reflect its global role, Palestinian Ambassador to Moscow Abdel Hafiz Nofal said on Tuesday.

"Russia is a great power, whose opinion should be reckoned with in international affairs," he said. "In this situation, Russia might come up with a new vision of the Middle East settlement as it did to stop the conflict in Syria."

He said that Russia could pool efforts with the United States to ease tensions in the Middle East. "This initiative might be a basis for the position of European countries," he added.

According to the Palestinian diplomat, the United States is currently claiming to have a monopoly in the Middle East settlement, as well as in other international issues. "This monopoly should be ended," he said.
