MOSCOW, June 14. /TASS/. The Ukrainian army shelled the western and southern outskirts of the city of Donetsk last night, a source in the law enforcement agencies of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said on Tuesday.

"At 23.00 hours the Ukrainian side opened fire with 122mm guns on Trudovskiye and at about 00.30 hours on Elenovka firing a total of 22 artillery shells on these populated localities," the source told Donetsk News Agency.

He noted that the Ukrainian troops used mortars firing a total of 44 120mm and 85 82mm mortar bombs. They also shelled the Yasinovataya area, Staromikhailovka village in western Donetsk, the city of Dokuchaevsk and the northern suburbs of Donetsk.

On June 10, the Contact Group on Ukraine held emergency video conference talks on request from the DPR. The participants in the meeting pointed to the need of observing the ceasefire and agreed to investigate the fire attacks by the next Contact Group meeting due on June 15. Members of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) and the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC) are to take part in it.
