MINSK, June 6 /TASS/. Parliamentary elections in Belarus are set for September 11, 2016.
"In accordance with a decree No. 190 signed by President [Alexander Lukashenko], the elections to the House of Representatives [the lower house of the Belarusian parliament -TASS] are set for September 11, 2016," the decree, which was published at the National Internet portal of legal information on Monday, said.
Elections to the Council of the Republic of Belarus (the upper house of parliament -TASS) will take place in a period from June 18 to September 18, 2016.
The Central Electoral Commission is vested with the task to organize the elections and exercise control over the implementation of the country’s legislation.
