PARIS, June 3 /TASS/. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo plans to visit Moscow this year, Sergey Cheremin, the head of Moscow’s department in charge of external economic and international relations, told TASS on Friday.
"The visit may take place in autumn," Cheremin said. He added that Hidalgo was planning to bring a large delegation of French businessmen to the Russian capital. It is going to be her first visit to Moscow after election as the mayor of Paris.
Anne Hidalgo met Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin in Paris on Friday. The two mayors signed a program for cooperation between the two capitals.
"The priorities set forth in the program of cooperation with Paris, including trade and economic relations; exchanges in the field of education and transport, will give an impetus to our ties," the Moscow mayor said.
Cheremin called the Friday talks between the Moscow and Paris mayors a positive signal for the future relations between the two mega cities. "The cooperation program signed today indicates that the Paris mayor’s office has great interest in developing ties with Moscow," he stressed.
