Russian law enforces defuse car bomb in North Caucasus republic — source

NALCHIK, June 1. /TASS/. Law enforces defused on Wednesday a bomb found in a car of an accomplice of militants in a district of the city of Nalchik, capital of Russia’s North Caucasian Kabardino-Balkaria republic, a source in the republic’s police told TASS.

"The found explosive device has been rendered harmless. It was exploded on the spot," the source said.

It was earlier reported that an accomplice of militants was detained in Nalchik’s Iskozh district; an explosive device with the yield equivalent to about 2 kg TNT was found in his car. The fragmentation bomb was ready for use. Heroin was found on the suspect during his personal search.
