LPR Defense Ministry reports Kiev forces shell militia from tanks

The ministry says Ukrainian forces 11 times opened fire on militia positions near Lugansk, using tanks, which must be withdrawn under bilateral accords

MOSCOW, May 30. /TASS/. The Ukrainian forces 11 times opened fire overnight on the positions of the people’s militia of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR). The shelling was also conducted from tanks that under the bilateral accords should be withdrawn from the contact line, the LPR Defense Ministry reported on Monday.

"The fire on the areas of the Logvinovo, Kalinovka and Lozovoye settlements was opened from weapons of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, from 120-mm and 82-mm mortars and grenade launchers," the LuganskInformCenter quotes a DPR defense official as saying.

The Ukrainian forces opened fire from the positions near the Luganskoye and Boguslavskoye settlements.

"There have been no casualties," the people’s militia said.

Members of the Contact Group on settling the situation in east Ukraine agreed on observing Easter ceasefire starting from April 30. However, the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk republics (DPR and LPR) and Kiev forces continue accusing each other of violating the ceasefire regime in Donbass.
