MINSK, May 17. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko plans to pay a visit to Italy and Vatican on May 20-21, Lukashenko’s press service said on Tuesday.
"The program of the visit includes talks with Italian President Sergio Mattarella. The two presidents are expected to discuss the entire range of Belarusian-Italian relations with a focus on trade-and-economic and investments cooperation," the press service said. "Special attention will be paid to the formation of a comprehensive legal framework for the Belarusian-Italian cooperation."
"During his visit to Vatican, Lukashenko will meet with Pope Francis to discuss Belarus’ cooperation with the Roman Catholic Church," the press service said.
Lukashenko visited Italy and Vatican in 2009 and met with the then Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and Pope Benedict XVI.
