BEIJING, May 13. /TASS/. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has expressed the hope that Russia and the United States play a more active role in the implementation of the ceasefire process in Syria at the meeting of the International Syria Support Group to be held in Vienna on May 17.
"We hope that Russia and the US as well as other members of the UN Security Council and the countries in the region will play a bigger role in the full ceasefire in Syria," says a documents posted on the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s website.
According to the minister, this will make it possible "to improve the efficiency of the political settlement of the issue."
The ceasefire in Syria came into force on February 27 when militants from 97 armed groups agreed to stop hostilities.
