MOSCOW, May 12. /TASS/. A source in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) militia on Thursday said Ukrainian forces fired 76 shells at the DPR territory over the last 24 hours.
"Shellings by Ukrainian forces started at 6:45 pm and ended at 1:15am. A total of 23 shells of 82mm caliber and 53 mines of 120mm caliber were fired," Donetsk News Agency quoted the source as saying.
Ukrainian forces also used tanks, heavy machine guns, grenade launchers and other types of weapons. According to the source, they opened fire at the settlements of Dokuchaevsk, Nikolayevka and Sakhanka from their positions in Avdeyevka, Shirokino, Berdyanskoye and Novotroitskoye.
The participants of the Contact Group on settling the situation in east Ukraine agreed on observing Easter ceasefire starting from April 30. However, the self-proclaimed Donbass republics and Kiev forces continue accusing each other of violating the ceasefire regime in Donbass.
