MOSCOW, April 29. /TASS/. The militia of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) have called on the pro-Kiev government forces to observe ceasefire in Donbass during Easter holidays.
"LPR people’s militia calls on Ukrainian forces to announce Easter ceasefire from 12am on April 30 and strictly observe the ceasefire regime during Easter and May holidays," a spokesman for LPR militia Andrey Marochko said on Friday at a briefing in Lugansk Inform Center.
According to Marochko, LPR militia "guarantee observance of ceasefire on their side of the contact line."
He reminded that the Contact Group’s security subgroup is holding a meeting in Minsk today. The participants of the group plan to discuss ensuring operation of checkpoints on the contact line during May holidays. "On behalf of people’s militia, I want to assure you that we are ready to cooperate with Ukrainian side and international organizations if these talks bring peace to Donbass," Marochko said.
