Car bomb neutralized in Ukraine’s Kherson Region

The settlement of Novoalexeyevka in Kherson Region’s Genichesky district was struck by a blast on April 14 that killed one person and injured four others

KIEV, April 23. /TASS/. The State Security Service of Ukraine has identified a vehicle with explosives and a detonator during an operation in the Genichesky district of the Kherson Region, the regional Interior Ministry’s press service said on Saturday.

"In the framework of inspecting the Genichesky district, (they) found a suspicious Daewoo Lanos. The car with numbers of another region of the country has been left on one of the city streets for a long time," the press service said. "Upon inspecting the vehicle, (they) found packets with explosives and an electric detonator," it added.

An investigative team and experts are currently working at the site. "The explosive device found in the car was neutralized," the press service said adding that materials on this incident were handed to the State Security Service.

According to the main theory, an anti-tank grenade exploded in an apartment of one of the houses.
