Donbass militia report nighttime shelling

MOSCOW, April 15. /TASS/. According to a local security agency of Ukraine's self-proclaimed Donetsk republic (DPR), government forces shelled the territory of the unrecognized republic overnight to Friday.

A section of the Donetsk-Gorlovka motor road near the Yasinovataya checkpoint came under fire. "The Ukrainian security forces began shelling the DPR positions at the Yasinovataya checkpoint at around 21:30 and ended at around 23:00. The fired seven 122mm artillery shells, nine 120 mm mortar shells and 18 mortar shells of 82 mm caliber on that area. The checkpoint was also fired at from weapons of an infantry fighting vehicle all this time," the Donetsk News Agency quotes a representative of DPR security agencies.

In addition, about fifty mortar shells were fired on the outskirts of Donetsk, Gorlovka and Dokuchayevsk. "The shelling of the Zaitsevo village near Gorlovka, the Donetsk airport zone and Dokuchayevsk started at 21:00 and ended at around midnight. A total of 37 mortar shells of 120 mm caliber and 12 shells of 82 mm caliber were fired," the source said.
