Bodies of 3 militants found at special operation site in south Russia — source

MAKHACHKALA, April 14. /TASS/. The bodies of three militants have been found on Thursday at the site of a special operation in Leninkent, a suburb of the Dagestani capital Makhachkala, a source in the republic’s security agencies told TASS.

"The bodies of three militants, one of whom has been preliminarily identified as Kamil Magomedov, born in 1986, have been found at a special operation site in the village of Leninkent (a suburb of Makhachkala)," the source said, adding that the investigative activities at the special operation site continued.

It was reported earlier that operations in Leninkent where anti-militant actions were taken on Wednesday have been resumed on Thursday. A suspicious house in Leninkent was blocked, the militants opened fire on law enforcers, after which the regime of a counterterrorism operation was introduced and the active phase of the special operation began, law enforcement source said on Wednesday.

"The active phase of the special operation was completed yesterday evening. The rest operations were postponed with the onset of darkness till the morning. Bomb experts have been examining since Thursday morning the house, after which the investigators will begin to work," a source in law enforcement agencies of Dagestan told TASS.

On Wednesday morning, security forces conducted targeted checks in the village of Leninkent. At around 16:00, Moscow time, a private house with militants from the Makhachkala gang was blocked. After the gunmen opened fire on the law enforcers, a counter-terrorism operation regime was introduced and the active phase of the special operation started.
