LEBANON-SYRIA BORDER, April 9. /TASS/. A delegation of Russian legislators representing both houses of the parliament has arrived in Syria with a humanitarian mission, TASS correspondent reported.
The group features two deputies of the Communist Party (Alexander Yuschenko, Sergei Gavrilov) and one senator (Dmitry Sablin).
"We have come to Syria on a humanitarian mission," Yuschenko told TASS. "We were welcomed by representatives of the Syrian People's Council."
he said the delegation will have meetings with the People's Council and with other high-ranking officials.
