BISHKEK, April 8. /TASS/. Russia for Kyrgyzstan is a key strategic partner, Kyrgyzstan’s President Almazbek Atambayev said on Friday during a meeting with speaker of the Russian State Duma (parliament’s lower house) Sergey Naryshkin, who is on a working visit in Bishkek.
"For us, Russia is a key strategic partner, and, of course, we welcome the visits which fix our mutual cooperation," the president said, adding he would appreciate active cooperation between parliaments of Moscow and Bishkek.
Sergey Naryshkin, in his turn, said he shared the opinion the relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan "are of truly strategic character."
"We consider positive our cooperation in the economic, defense, humanitarian spheres," he said. "Despite the present problems, caused by various crises in the global economy, the complicated international situation, we are passing them successfully."
"I would like to say we cooperate very fruitfully at the parliamentary level," the speaker said.
