CAIRO, March 30. /TASS/. Syrian President Bashar Assad in a message to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has expressed the Syrian authorities’ readiness to cooperate in the struggle with terrorism, the SANA news agency said.
"Syrian President Bashar Assad has sent a message to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to appreciate his greetings over the liberation of the city of Tadmor [the Arab name of Plamyra — TASS] by Syrian army and its allies from DAESH terrorists [the Arab name of the terrorist organization Islamic State outlawed in Russia]," SANA says. "Possibly, this is the right moment for stepping up the collective war against terrorism. Syria is prepared for international cooperation in the struggle with terrorism," Assad said.
In his message he also called upon international organizations to provide assistance to Damascus in restoring Palmyra’s historical landmarks.
