NICOSIA, March 29. /TASS/. Unidentified persons have hijacked an EgyptAir plane en route from Alexandria to Cairo with at least 80 people onboard, CyprusMail reported on Tuesday.
According to CyprusMail, the Airbus A320 landed at Larnaca airport in Cyprus at 8:50am local time.
According to Reuters, there are 80-81 people on board, one of them armed. AFP reported 55 passengers and seven crew members on board, while Cyprus Mail said there are 55 people on board including the crew.
Associated Press reported that there might be a bomb on board the plane.
EgyptAir has confirmed flight MS181 was hijacked on Twitter.
