ISLAMABAD, March 27. /TASS/. The Jamaat ul-Ahrar extremist group, a part of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan movement, has claimed responsibility for the terror attack in Pakistan’s Lahore killing 64, the Doon daily said on Sunday on its website.
The terrorist attack was committed on Sunday by a suicide bomber in a playground in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park in Lahore, the capital city of Pakistan’s Punjab province. According to the latest reports, the death toll from the terrorist attack has reached 64. As many as 279 people have been wounded.
The police have found the fragments of the body of the supposed suicide bomber at the site. The bomb was stuffed with metal balls.
Eyewitnesses say there were many families with children who celebrated Catholic Easter in the park but almost no security guards at stationary and mobile points. The explosion occurred several meters off children’s amusement rides.
