Russian warplanes have flied 41 sorties since Tuesday to support Syrian government troops’ offensive and deliver air strikes at Islamic State targets near the city of Palmyra in Syria’s province of Homs, chief of Russia’s center for reconciliation of the warring parties, Lieutenant General Sergei Kuralenko, said on Friday.

"As a result of the Russian air group’s actions, as many as 146 terrorist targets, including command centers, munitions depots, artillery systems, tanks and motor vehicles, have been hit," he said.
