GENEVA, March 24./TASS/. A new round of intra-Syrian talks will begin no later than on April 9 or 10, the UN Secretary General’s special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, said on Thursday.
Earlier, the head of the government delegation to the talks, Syria’s UN Ambassador Bashar Jaafari, said the government delegation did not plan to return to Geneva before a parliamentary election in Syria, due on April 13. The opposition High Negotiations Committee insisted that talks should restart before that date.
